Kollywood actress Asin Thottumkaal made her first of many Tamil films with a supporting role in Mahalakshmi son of M. Kumaran in 2004, earning her name as a Tamil actress despite doing films in different languages. Trisha has done 19 films till date, with three more produced this year, her last release was in 2009. Asin has been seen in these Tamil films: M. Kumaran Mahalakshmi son (Tamil debut), Ullam Ketkumae, Ghajini, Majaa, Shivakasi, Varalaru, Anavaram, Aalvar, Pokkiri, Vel, Dasavathaaram and most recently Ghajini which is his biggest commercial success till date.
The twenty-six-year-old actress has to her credit at such a young age, including best actress awards, best debut and most promising newcomer from various associations such as Filfare and Stardust awards. Before starting her acting career, Thottumkal also dabbled in the modeling business, with one client being Colgate. In 2001, the aspiring actress/model moved from Kochi to Chennai to pursue her acting career, making her screen debut with Sathyan Anthikkad’s Narendra Makan Jayakanthan Vaka. Her determination, beauty and talent have made her popular among Bollywood directors.
