I Am Failing Spanish – 4 Tips to Help You Improve Your Grade!

What do you do when you think you’re not good at Spanish, that you’re about to lose Spanish, or that you’re not making any progress?

I know how you feel because I used to get that feeling in Maths. I felt like I was never okay. Nothing but addition, subtraction, multiplication and division was meaningless. That was it! I feel like that’s all you need to live in the real world, who cares about anything else? Forget algebra and anything I won’t use daily.

But my point is that not all parts of Maths were difficult. I just found some sections and topics more difficult than others, so I had to find a way to overcome the difficulties in those areas to get through.

But bringing it back to Spanish, I found the difficult parts of Spanish, especially Spanish listening; learn to speak the language fluently and have a wide vocabulary. So I had to find ways to overcome the challenges I faced.

It was the only way I would go.

If you don’t speak Spanish or think you are in danger of not speaking Spanish, I would recommend that you do the following:

1. Identify the parts of your Spanish course that you struggle with. What do you find most difficult about learning Spanish? This is a dictionary; verb conjugation; speaking; to listen; read or write?

2. Once you’ve done that, try to give specific tips to help you improve in the area you’re struggling with. So, if you are good enough at reading, don’t spend more time studying Spanish. Spend time on the parts you find most difficult.

3. Spend an extra 15 minutes a day on those areas. You’re not going to be slaving away in these areas for 15 minutes either. You’ll find fun ways to improve in these areas. I have some tips on my blog to help you get more connected and engaged with the language.

Anyone who feels like something is failing will start moving away from it for obvious reasons, so you need to find inspiration to keep you busy and improve. When you’re having fun with something, it stops feeling like working or studying, and you just learn or pick things up at record speed. This is when you start moving forward.

4. Be consistent in working to overcome your challenges. If there’s one thing you’ll hear me say over and over again, it’s be consistent with whatever approach you take to improvement. Rome wasn’t built in a day. Over time, putting in a little effort will help you pass Spanish and get a good grade!

You can’t beat Spanish, and I assure you that if you start now, you’ll see improvement within two weeks, as I’ve seen it happen many times.
